Parish Based Family Centred Sacramental Programs

These Sacramental programs are designed to be family centred. The aim is to help the family become more involved in helping their child prepare for receiving a sacrament within our Church.

The Parishes role in these celebrations is

to gather people
to provide approved material and catechesis
to aid in informed choices
to give support through prayer, catechesis and liturgy.

Aims

To restore the role of the family in the faith development of their children, in the nurturing environment of the Parish Catholic community.

To provide a parish base for families, to lead their children through Sacramental programs.

To enable the Sacraments to become Community Celebrations.

To enliven, evangelise and uplift the Parish through participation.

Outcomes

Grants opportunity for parents to re-discover and deepen their faith through choosing participation in Sacramental programs.

Empowers parents to share and talk about their faith with their children.

Creates a Spirit filled community that derives energy from the celebration of the sacraments with the focus on God, our Creator and Christ our Saviour and the Spirit our Transformer.
