Building Education Revolution
You may have heard something in the media regarding
our Prime Minister’s Building Education Revolution.
Through this programme, a large amount of money is
being made available especially to primary schools for
various building and renovation projects.
Here at Ashfield, the school principal, Mr. Des Fox and I
have held discussions with representatives of
Government, Catholic Education Office and Bovis Lend
Lease who had engaged to assist in the delivery of the
BER programme. It has been decided that extensive
renovations will take place within the St. Vincent's
Primary school building itself and also within the present
hall which the school uses quite extensively.
The details of this project are still being worked out.
However, I can advise that the total project could take approximately seven months with work due to commence
at the end of March 2010. At this stage, I do not have any
more details than outlined above, most of which were
confirmed this week.
I am very excited about this ‘revolution’ and the possibilities it gives to our total parish plant, as well as the improved facilities for the school. I will keep you informed as soon as I have more information.
