Welcome Message from Our Parish Priest Fr Michael Walsh CM

Fr Michael

Hi and welcome to St Vincent’s Parish website.

I have been the parish priest here at St Vincents since 2004.
We have a very multicultural parish with parishioners from over 70 countries. Together we worship God and experience the joys of belonging to God’s family.

Although I have lived in many states of Australia, I was actually baptised in this parish and ordained here by Bishop David Cremin. I have served in many parishes but also have been a chaplain in hospitals and in prisons.

It is a privilege to be the parish priest here at St Vincents. I hope that this web page gives you an insight into some of our many and varied ministries.

Pastoral Associate: Marguerite Martin

MargueriteWelcome to this sacred place…St Vincent’s.

For years I had been seeing signposts pointing the way to Ashfield and now I am here, I feel quite at home. St Vincent’s is one of Sydney’s older parishes and as such is held in affection by many. It is a sacred site, the repository of many rich and varied memories for many.

Although the church is an imposing structure built over 110 years ago, passing through the doors you will have that sense of familiarity and warmth, that indicative of the type of faith and worship of the parishioners of Ashfield.

I have been Pastoral Associate in Ashfield since 2007. My main focus is facilitating the Parish based Sacramental programs and the R.C.I.A and co-ordinating the catechetics in our State Schools.  You are always welcome.
